Wade Allen
Mr. Wade Allen is President and Technical Director of Systems Technology, Inc. Mr. Allen’s interests include simulation development for human operator research, assessment, selection and training. He has recently been involved with novice driver training, older driver assessment and effects of fatigue on the human operator. He has extensive experience with projects involving the task demands critical to human operator performance.
Dr. Gary G. Kay
Ph.D.
Dr. Kay is an Associate Professor of Neurology at Georgetown University, a Fellow of the National Academy of Neuropsychologists and a member of the International Neuropsychological Society and the American Psychological Association. He is also a diplomat of the American Board of Assessment Psychology and a consultant to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration and the Federal Aviation Administration.
Dr. Sherrilene Classen
Ph.D., MPH, OTR/L
Dr. Sherrilene Classen, PhD, MPH, OTR/L is an Associate Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy and Director of the University of Florida’s Institute for Mobility, Activity and Participation. Dr. Classen, a prevention-oriented scientist, uses a public health and rehabilitation science perspective to improve safety, promote independence and prevent injuries among young and aging drivers and those with neurological conditions. Dr. Classen is a Fellow of both the Gerontological Society of America and the American Occupational Therapy Association.
Theodore J. Rosenthal
Mr. Theodore (Ted) J. Rosenthal, Chief Technologist, of Systems Technology, Inc. provides computer programming and analytical support in projects involving ground vehicles, human factors and computer simulation. He is the technical director for STISIM Drive®, STI’s low cost PC-based person-in-the-loop driving simulator. Mr. Rosenthal’s recent research emphasizes driving behavior with projects assessing cognitively and physically impaired individuals; pharmaceutical agents; sleep and fatigue; and novice and older driver training and assessment.
Dr. Orit Shechtman
PhD., MHS, MSc., OTR/L
Dr. Shechtman is an Associate Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy, College of Public Health and Health Profession (PHHP), and a Senior Researcher affiliated with the University of Florida's Institute for Mobility, Activity and Participation. Her research expertise is in examining reliability and validity of driving simulators, driving assessments, and grip strength instruments. Dr. Shechtman has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications, presented both nationally and internationally, and is currently teaching basic science courses in the Bachelor of Health Science Program. She received the University of Florida Teacher of the Year Award in 1997-98, the PHHP College Teacher of the year in 2005-2006, and the 2005-2006 Most Outstanding Faculty Member.
